CSMM continues expansion course and opens location in Hamburg

Munich, September 21, 2023 - CSMM, one of the leading planning and consulting companies for office architecture and working environment conception, can celebrate a double milestone this year: The company not only celebrates its 20th anniversary, but also announces the opening of its sixth location. Starting in September, CSMM will also be represented in Hamburg to further expand its holistic range of services at the interface of interior design and architecture in the Hanseatic city. The company continues its successful collaboration with clients from various industries, whose corporate architecture CSMM implements in an advisory and design capacity. The goal is to continue CSMM's continuous growth in Germany under the guiding principle RE:BUILD THE FUTURE in Hamburg as well.

The CSMM success story began in 2003 with a handful of creative minds in Munich. With more than 90 architects, the founding team has established itself over two decades as a proven expert in brand-individual, identity-creating spatial and architectural concepts. At soon six locations in Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Warsaw and now Hamburg, diverse, often award-winning projects are created in the fields of architecture, interior design and consulting. The expansion of the site was driven by the successfully established local customer relationships and the growing understanding of concepts that ensure optimized space utilization in offices with changing workloads and increasing demand for flexibility. The expansion of consulting mandates, which implement change management spatially and develop brand-defining design power through innovative space typologies, is also one of the core tasks of the new Hamburg team. Muna Tillmanns-Bauer, head of the location, is looking forward to the new task: "The Hanseatic city has a dynamic business world and is an important business location for us" emphasizes Tillmanns-Bauer. "Within a short period of time, we have realized a whole range of projects for major clients such as Linklaters, Addleshaw Goddard, NRF and many more. The scale of change in the northern real estate sector is immense. The development of modern and visionary office concepts towards possibility spaces, which aim at a more efficient usable and inspiring working environment, is already successfully implemented in many cases."

CSMM's representative office at the centrally located Domplatz underscores the company's efforts to expand its reach to the north and be closer to its customers. With Muna Tillmanns-Bauer, who has already been part of the leading CSMM team for seven years, an experienced interior designer will set up the new location. For a long time, the revitalization of real estate has been one of her main areas of activity, which is why she is taking on a special role in Hamburg as an ambassador for CSMM's guiding principle RE:BUILD THE FUTURE. "Our structural concepts pursue a "possibility architecture", which designs commercially used buildings open to development, in favor of versatile forms of use by different tenants. We see our task in developing buildings that can be revitalized in a resource-saving way and used for a variety of purposes. With maximum building depth and room height, open-plan offices, commercial space or even a hotel can be accommodated - with the aim of preserving the building fabric in the long term," explains Timo Brehme, managing partner at CSMM.

This way of working has made CSMM a valued partner for investors and developers in the industry for years. With numerous building projects, some of which have won awards, the architects demonstrate the urban planning and climate policy potential of revitalization and modernization projects, which are designed to significantly extend the life cycle of buildings. "Our partners in Hamburg reinforce our belief that our Hamburg presence allows for a new dynamic: After all, high space utilization costs and pandemic vacancies have exposed long-held concepts as inefficient. Now it's not simply a matter of reducing space, but of using new concepts to further develop previously valid criteria such as occupancy and efficiency enhancement on the basis of new impulses," explains Brehme.
